Organising Independence day

"India is the cradle of the human race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother of legend, and the great grandmother of tradition. Our most valuable and most instructive materials in the history of man are treasured up in India only."
—Mark Twain
Today is 15th august. Today India celebrates its 62nd year of independence. Today is one of the most prestigious day in the calendar and in the year. It’s almost ___ yrs. we have got our independence. We are proud and salute to those who lost their lives while fighting for independence. On this day, all of us have national holiday. In schools and offices, people host the flag and keep a small program for celebrating this prestigious day.
We also decided to celebrate it in our school. The teachers informed us and gave a rough list of events to be done. All the DP students gathered and discussed what all to do and what not and who should we choose for particular events. All of us decided that I and my friend Shradha would compare the show. I was really nervous, because it is the first time I am comparing a show. I was a bit scared but was ready to take this challenge. We all were aware of our responsibilities.

Epically me because I was hosting the show. Everyone was in charge of a particular event and were supervising it too. All of us worked collaboratively as one team and kept each other updated about the events. Primary children also participated. Seeing that enthusiasm in their eyes, made me more confident. During the show, there were changes ad we couldn't just stop so I had to be a bit more aware and spontaneous and confident.  Being aware of ones responsibilities and not doing them is not a good thing. Learning these new skills would help me a lot in the future. I hope I get to host many shows in future. Till then enjoy!!

Introduction

Hello Everyone ! My name is Rucha Verma and I am an IB student of D.Y Patil International school, Nagpur. This blog will be my CAS journal, where I will be writing all about the CAS activities I will do and my experience about it.

My aim will be to develop many skills and hope to learn many things like: how to be a team player, share and working on ideas, being creative and much more.

I would like to tell you more about CAS.  CAS is a framework for experimental learning, designed to involve students in a new role. CAS stands for Creativity, Action and Service.

Creativity: This includes activities  like dancing, theater, music and art. We would learn how to be creative, how to share our ideas and work on it together and much more.

Action: This includes participation in expedition, individual and team sports and much more outdoor activities.

Service: This involves in interaction, such as groups in community. The community may be school, the local districts and many others.

CAS is the core of IB and therefore we must complete our CAS requirements fully in order to get an IB Diploma.

As all of this is new for me, I hope to learn many skills and qualities and hope to have fun working, with my mates.
