Last time I couldn’t participate in the annual sports week
but this time I was determined to do so. I decided that I would participate in
all possible events. My goal was to complete the race and do my best. I didn’t
think about winning or losing. I simply wanted to enjoy it.
The first event was 100meters race for girl from grade 9 to
DP II. There was nobody to participate. I was disappointed that I couldn’t take
part in the race. But later on my friend Urja and Ragini decided that they
would take part. I was all set. As I sat down on the starting point, I felt
scared for few seconds. But I just then closed my eyes and concentrated on my
goal which was the finish line. I took this challenge to prove myself that yes
I can do it. The only problem while running was that the ground was not leveled
properly. Knowing this I ran the race and completed it. Urja was the only one
of my competition. But just before few second of reaching the finish line, she
tripped and fell. As I completed the race I did ask her if she is fine, and she
gave a smile and said that she is completely okay. I felt great knowing that
she didn’t feel bad about losing or falling down. Now this is a true
sportsmanship spirit. I not only completed the race but I won it also. I was
happy that I achieved my goal. By completing the race, I felt more confident
about myself. I did realize that I had the capability of running fast but my
stamina was not very high.
